If you have any spare time in your week or weekend and would like to contribute to hospice,

or if you would like to find a new dimension in giving, we have many opportunities for you.

Become a Volunteer


Volunteering is a rewarding and empowering way to make a difference to someone's life

  • Assist in our Kowhai Wellness Programmes
  • Become a community home visitor - visiting patients and families in their homes, giving carers some time out, having a chat or making a cup of tea
  • Join the team of Retail Assistants in our Hospice Quality Second Hand Shops.
  • Share your artistic and creative flair as part of our Kowhai Arts & Drawing for Relaxation Programme.
  • Produce culinary or preserved delights (jams, chutneys etc) to go on sale for hospice
  • Assist or get involved with one of our special events.
  • Utilise your skills. If you have skill or a trade, we may need your help. Some examples could be gardening, landscaping, cooking etc
