SPOTLIGHT ON BEREAVEMENT SERVICES

FATHER'S DAY REMEMBRANCE SERVICE RELEASES STRONG EMOTIONS

On September 7th we held a remembrance  service at Hospice for Father's Day.

It was a cathartic experience for many, who appreciated the opportunity to honour lost fathers and other beloved men in their lives, through stories and dedicated songs and finally the release of beautiful white peace doves provided by Dove Blessings (www.doveblessings.com).

Thank you to all who attended, it was our privilege to share your joy and grief in equal measure.

Heroic Garden's Festival ~ March 2009

We are delighted to announce that we have been selected as the charity recipient for next year’s Heroic Gardens Festival to be held 7 and 8 March 2009 throughout the Auckland area.

First held in 1997, the festival is a yearly event which has become a much enjoyed part of the Auckland summer calendar. It appeals to a broad spectrum of the community and provides an opportunity to see a diverse range of gardens and to meet the garden owners – tickets are only $30 and are valid for both days.

As a summer event, the festival celebrates the subtropical aspect of Auckland’s gardens, its casual relaxed life-style and is a chance to be inspired while supporting hospice.

All profits from the festival will be donated to hospice to enable us to continue caring for people living with a terminal illness completely free of charge.

Please support hospice by attending this event, you can purchase tickets and find out more by visiting the festival website www.heroicgardens.org.nz/ or contact us for further information.
