Volunteering

Become a Volunteer

Volunteering is a rewarding and empowering way to make a difference to someone's life.

At Hospice West Auckland we interact with people from all walks of life, so your life experience, skill or talent could be just what the Doctor ordered.

Time is the most precious thing we can give each other, and often having the time to make a cuppa for a patient, or stop for a chat with a family/whanau member is a wonderful gift.

Our volunteers are held in high regard and are valued for the contribution they make.  All of our volunteers are given induction and training in specific areas, where required.

Here are some ways in which you can make a difference:

- Retail Assistants
- Fundraising Volunteers (for specific appeals and events)
- Event coordinators
- Drivers
- Writing, Art & Photography
- Floral Art & Crafts
- Cooks and Bakers
- Beauty Therapists and Hairdressers
- Shoppers and Errand Runners
- Entertainers and Performing Artists for our events
